This BBC article explains how Dr Fred Cohen created the first computer virus 26 years ago and how he and his colleague deliberated over whether to publish their research.

The anti-virus industry is widely believed to be struggling to keep up with the volume of new malware being created today. Here at Genus One we have successfully cleaned the PC of one of our clients after they were infected with a trojan despite having up-to-date anti-virus software installed.
